  3. After you exit, you’ll curve to the left (unless you need gas or McDonalds- it’s on the right). Stay on this road all the way into Prescott.
  4. You will pass through several small towns: Mayer, Dewey, Humboldt, and Prescott Valley.

Coming from California?

If you are coming from certain parts of California, you might not need to go all the way to Phoenix or Flagstaff:

  • If you are coming in on Interstate 40 thru Kingman, you drop down from Ash Fork on the 89…when you’re coming into Prescott, veer right…you will be on Gurley or Sheldon, depending which lane you are in- Gurley is the main street through town and Sheldon parallels it.  Turn left on Montezuma/Whiskey Row/89 and then turn right at Copper Basin Rd.  There’s a stoplight and a Woody’s gas station there.  It is 5 miles from that point to camp.  The last 2 miles are not paved.
  • If you’re coming in on Interstate 95 towards the 10 from Blythe… Just past Quartzite, take the 60 to the 71 (you by-pass Wickenburg that way) to the 89.  The first stoplight you come to entering Prescott is Copper Basin- turn left.  There’s a Woody’s gas station there. It’s 5 more miles to camp- the last 2 are not paved.
